ABOUT PAULA

I believe we all need to take responsibility for our own health in a world that often perpetuates a way of living that can be harmful to our well being.

My mission throughout all my group classes and one-to-one sessions is to help you gain the knowledge and ability to correct, heal, develop and progress your own physical and mental well being.

I first qualified to teach group exercise in 1997.  I built up a range of classes in various sports centres and community halls over the years, including aerobics and body conditioning, step, cardio, circuits, fitball and resistance equipment based classes, pilates, yoga and Body Balance.

In 2012 I attended an imovefreely workshop, introducing me to a method of recognising, assessing and measuring a persons movement (intrinsic biomechanics), in order to help them move and train in a way more effective for their specific mechanical makeup.

This absolutely changed the way I thought about and taught exercise, and led me to train as a full Specialist Biomechanics Coach.

While working with more people on a 1-1 basis as a Biomechanics Coach, I recognised that some conditions and injuries could be more effectively improved with the addition of manual therapy.  I also began to understand more the link between emotional and nutritional wellbeing on our physical/structural health.  To this end I am now qualified in Sports Massage and Touch for Health (Kinesiology).

I use a combination of all these methods as appropriate to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

The combination of specific personal training and manual therapy that I can offer together can be very powerful in helping you best achieve your health and fitness goals.
